  1. Robert Powers Says:

    Peanut is our four year old Fox Terrier. We adopted her about one year ago. She has become one of the family. Actualy, my wife and I can not imagine our family without little Peanut.
    She is extremely intelligent. So much so, that she already answers to her name in a number of different languages.
    English = Peanut
    German = Erdnuss
    Mandarin = Huasheng
    Spanish = Cacahuate

    Peanut goes almost everywhere with us. She enjoys our daily walks and car rides. She is not a huge fan of flying in small planes though. Then again, my wife doesn’t enjoy flying either. Did I mention that Peanut and my wife have bonded especially close?

    The enjoyment that Peanut has brought into our lives can not overemphasized. She is always upbeat and happy to see us. No matter how difficult the workday has been, Peanut is always there
    ready with a high pitched squeek and a rapidly wagging tail when
    we arrive home.

    Thank you Kim and Andy for all the joy you have brought into our lives.

  2. Jan Newhouse Says:

    Having never lived alone in my 60-plus years, I was widowed last year and found the adjustment very difficult, so in January I decided to seek a “roommate.” Little Paws Dog Rescue introduced me to an 8-year-old, 10-pound bundle of love named Cookie - a Scottie/Yorkie mix. From the beginning, we were a perfect match. She seems to anticipate my every wish and in return asks nothing more than a warm sunbeam or my lap to snuggle in.
    Relatives were initially concerned that, because she’s a small dog, I might trip over her and fall, but she’s always mannerly and waits for me to go though a doorway first. She’s even so considerate that she doesn’t shed! And I’ve had none of the challenges of housebreaking, leash training, yapping, chewing, etc, that come with a puppy. Believe me, I’ve dealt with that!
    Last but not least, Kim and Jamae have been great in their follow-ups to make sure all is well. I definitely would recommend that anyone thinking about getting a dog should adopt a rescue animal… and look to Little Paws first.

  3. Amanda Ross Says:

    I adopted Scooter (now Araby) in September ‘07 and it’s been a great experience. He’s four now, excelled wonderfully in obedience classes, and is a loyal companion. I agree with what others have said about adoption; having lived overseas and seen all of the stray dogs that are commonplace on the street, I can’t support stores that use puppy mills to make a profit. I strongly support spaying/neutering your pet and rescuing lovable dogs like Araby from organizations like Little Paws.

  4. Gabbi DeWitt Says:

    We adopted Farley in April, 2007. My 6yo daughter likes to say that “he picked us” because he came and climbed into my lap and put his head on my shoulder. Farley is a basset/german shepherd/lab mix, and we really think we got the best of all those breeds. He is so laid back, but if you want to go on a 4 mile walk, he is right there with you. I have other friends who adopted puppies around the same time we got Farley. One of the differences we noticed was his calm nature around other dogs, kids and adults. We credit the home fostering program for is ease around everyone. He hasn’t yet met a dog or person who he didn’t like immediately. This was the first indoor dog I had ever owned, I first thought there was NO WAY I was going to be able to handle a puppy. Now I think there is NO WAY I could not have him in our lives. We all love him so much, and the practical assistance and advice we got from the staff of Little Paws Rescue, both before adoption and the months immediately following, was invaluable! Thank you for helping us complete our family!

  5. Jennifer Byers Says:

    I adopted Oliver (formerly Ziggy) in the fall of 2007, and he is the most wonderful addition to my life! I cannot imagine why this adorable black and white Shit Tzu was abandoned because he is the sweetest little guy with great manners and training. My family and friends love him too, so he’s definitely got a place in our home and hearts forever. I am so happy I chose to adopt from Little Paws, it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

  6. Natasha Joiner Says:

    Hello! Beau our new Jack Russell/Bull Terrier mix is the best dog in the WORLD! He was already housebroken, and older (5 years) so he was over the puppy stage. I am so glad we have him now and he really seems to appreciate having a great loving home! Beau loves to play and join us outdoors but he is ready to come in and relax in the recliner with me at the end of the day! My 2 daughters and husband say that he is the best dog we have ever had! Please give adoption a chance, there are so many wonderful pets that need a great home and most of them are better than what you would get by going to a breeder!

  7. Wendy Elvendahl Says:

    I adopted Brodie in September 2007 and would like to thank you for such a wonderful little dog. I was looking for a Pekingese who would be a companion to my other little Pekingese Leonardo. I can tell you that on any given day I cannot tell where one begins and the other one ends. They are either playing and wrestling or they are sleeping together on a dog bed. Brodie is also very active and smart so we are now training him in agility - he loves it! Brodie is wonderful and we really love him.

  8. Theresa Rowland Says:

    Just wanted to say that our new little girl is doing GREAT!!
    we adopted Winnie, her full name now is Winnie Pastel Rowland
    she is such a good addition to our family, the cats feel differently right now but I am convinced they will come around in time (she just wants to play) She is doing great at housebreaking and she is going to puppy class and learning every day. she loves her walks and loves jumping (with our help) into bed with us after going outside first thing in the morning. she has such a sweet personality. Initially I wanted a breed instead of a mix but I am so glad we adopted Winnie and more so that we rescued a dog. I encourage people to be responsible pet owners and get their pets spayed or neutered and have the attitude they are not disposable they are part of your family…

  9. Andrea Schindler Says:

    I can’t express the joy that my adopted dog Wilson has brought me. He is the dog that I have always dreamed to own. He is always on my lap or by my side. Right now he is laying by my feet while I am at the computer.When you hold him he just melts into you. I don’t know why he was abandon. He does not have any bad habits and he housebroke very quickly and believe you me that was important to me. There are so many wonderful dogs out there please give them a chance. They will win your heart over, too! This was one of the best decisions I have made. Wilson even won my husband and son over, it took all of a week. It is like he has always been part of our family.
